Bike Radar Verdict: "We can emphatically say that it's not what you think - it's probably better!
Cycling Weekly: "Comfort without compromising performance”
The Trek Domane (say doh-MAH-nay) is more than a high-performance road bike, it is bicycle intended to make your longest, toughest day in the saddle your best day ever. The frame has the unique feature of having a cartridge bearing pivot that separates the top tube and seat stays from the seat tube and Ride Tuned seat mast. Called IsoSpeed, this maintenance-free feature allows free movement of the seat tube when rough roads try to hammer the fillings out of your teeth!
A smooth-riding bike used to mean a bike that would handle like a wet sponge, and respond to hard pedaling like overcooked linguini. But not the Domane. With Trek’s Power Transfer Construction, the Domane’s massive, lightweight downtube and huge chainstays are anchored at the BB90 bottom bracket to transfer every watt of power put into the pedals to the rear wheel. The carbon “recipe” at these locations produces supreme stiffness with every pedal stroke.
